Eagles vs. Giants Prediction, Player Prop Bets & Odds for Sunday, 1/7

On Sunday, 1/7, the Philadelphia Eagles travel to New York to square off against the Giants in an important season finale for Philly. The Eagles have lost four of their last five games, and they are coming off a devastating 35-31 home loss to the Cardinals last week. Coach Sirianni has taken some heat, as his defense appears to be stagnant at a very bad time.

The Eagles need to right the ship here and win this game if they want to win this division. As for the Giants, their season is all but over, and a win for them here would only hurt their draft position. Obviously, they would love to kick the Eagles while they’re down, but it isn’t necessarily the best thing for them at this time. This should be a fun game, so keep reading for our Eagles vs. Giants prediction.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants Prediction for Sunday’s Game

On Sunday, a lot is at stake for this Eagles team that started off the year in spectacular form after winning the NFC Championship just last season. The Eagles have basically fallen apart as of late, losing some close games and getting blown out by the 49ers and Cowboys within the last five weeks.

The Eagles' defense has given up multiple 30+ point games to opposing offenses recently, which is certainly not a winning formula. However, they face a 5-11 Giants offense this week that has lost their last three games.

With the Giants bouncing around between three quarterbacks this year and continuing to struggle, it is hard to believe they will come out and beat an Eagles team that desperately needs this win for playoff implications. The Giants currently hold the fifth draft pick this coming year, and a win over Philly would push them way back down the draft board. We believe Nick Sirianni will focus on the defense immensely ahead of this one, as the Eagles’ offense has still been able to put up 30+ points the last two weeks. With the line currently set at 5.5 points in favor of the Eagles, we just don’t see a world where the Giants cover the spread or win this game, despite being at home.

The Eagles will look to make a statement heading into the playoffs, and they certainly won’t be resting any star players like some other teams this week. Let’s keep it simple and go with the better team in this matchup. Our Eagles vs. Giants prediction is the Eagles -5.5 (-110 at FanDuel).

Player Prop Bets & Picks for Eagles vs. Giants Featuring D’Andre Swift & Jalin Hyatt

Below, we want to break down our favorite player Eagles vs. Giants player prop bets, including Eagles star running back D’Andre Swift and Giants WR Jalin Hyatt.

D’Andre Swift Player Props: Swift Anytime TD Scorer (+185 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

When we look at the Eagles rushing core, it is clear Swift is the number one back for this offense. Last week, he rushed for 61 yards against Arizona without finding the endzone, and the week prior, he exploded for 92 yards and a touchdown against this very Giants' defense. Our experts expect another big game here out of Swift, and it seems likely he’ll find the endzone this week after failing to do so last game. Let’s confidently back D’Andre Swift Anytime TD Scorer (+185 at FanDuel).

Jalin Hyatt Player Props: Hyatt Over 19.5 Receiving Yards (-125 at FanDuel)

Jalin Hyatt is a young receiver who is certainly a deep threat down the field and down the sideline for this Giants team. Last week, he had 25 yards receiving, including an 18-yard completion from Tyrod Taylor. We expect to see more targets this week after a nice little performance last week. Hyatt can potentially get big plays of 20 yards or more whenever he’s on the field. Let’s expect Hyatt to make a couple of catches against this struggling Eagles defense and hit his Over 19.5 Yards Receiving (-125 at FanDuel Sportsbook).

Injury Report for Eagles vs. Giants on 1/7

The injury report for Sunday’s game is quite extensive with questionable players. Notable players for the Eagles are Darius Slay and DeVonta Smith, who are both questionable and have been limited in practice. For the Giants, Tyrod Taylor has been limited in practice along with defensive backs Jason Pinnock and Darnay Holmes. We expect QB Tyrod Taylor to start Sunday for NY despite his questionable status. Enjoy the game!
